There were several antique fire trucks in the parade. I wondered how old some of them were, and I couldn’t help but recall a family story about a relative that was a firefighter in Detroit years ago. He had the honor of driving the department’s first gasoline engine firetruck but got sent back down to driving the horse-drawn unit when he got busted for speeding – he had been going 30 miles per hour!

Neat antique fire engine and cute story.
An old time Hero!
What a cool fire engine (although I would have loved to see a horse drawn unit like the one your relative was FORCED to use)! Too funny!
Great story and a beautifully kept fire engine, the driver has the perfect parade wave.
