When one thinks of the subways of NYC they usually picture underground platforms, but once you go under the river and emerge in Queens the trains run on elevated tracks like this one pictured here. The trains run 24/7 in NYC and the residents rely on this mode of public transportation.

Wonderful shot, Karen! Nice, clean lines and terrific detail and clarity. And what’s not to love about that sky?
Nice catch, Karen! You pictured this fabulously – nice and clear!
They have you well trained, in case they need to run you out of town on a rail no doubt. Good perspective, where you laying down when you took it?
No Ron, not drunk in the gutter from Wild Turkey! I was actually sitting in the passenger seat of the car and I took that through the windsheild. Just looked up and snapped a few shots.
Great composition!! You can’t tell it was taken through the windshield.
You caught an interesting angle there, to offset all those geometric shapes. There is an art-deco look to the train overpass. It looks like you have a reflection of some of the clouds in the cars, too. This is one of those times you ‘point and shoot’ and hope for the best.
Love the perspective here along with the lighting and those gorgeous clouds! Great shot!
Great shot of the El, Karen! Very cool!
Great angle. Love the contrast between the brown and the beautiful blue sky.
